Tu B'Shevat Seder

Come join us in person for a lite supper and Tu B’Shevat Seder before BEIT Experiences on January 25th. Reservations and donations requested.

As winter chills us the Jewish calendar anticipates spring. On January 25th, we’ll celebrate Tu B’Shevat, (the day 15th of the Hebrew month Shevat) the annual Jewish arbor day, a “New Year of Trees.” The purpose of Tu B’Shevat is to appreciate more consciously the beauty of the natural world in which we live and to care for the environment.

It was the 16th century Jewish mystics of Tzfat, Israel who first created an imaginative Seder to celebrate Tu B’Shevat. At this Seder the four cups of wine symbolize the seasons of nature. White wine represents winter’s slumber. Red wine predicts the awakening of plant life, blossoming and growing with the sun’s warmth.
