Our Shared Commitment
the meaning of membership
At Congregation Beth El we are each part of a larger community embracing us as we encounter the ups and downs of our individual and family lives. The values, heritage, and relationships touching our lives as synagogue members sustain us. We gain inspiration, support, and home in a synagogue community personalizing for us what it means to be part of the Jewish People.
Belonging to Congregation Beth El roots all of us in a local, focused expression of Jewish peoplehood and provides us with the resources we need to live compelling and thoughtful Jewish lives. We belong here because we can’t be the Jews we aspire to be alone. We need each other. We need a community filled with peers, with those younger and older than we are, with those of similar and different temperaments and perspectives. Jewish life wisdom teaches us to join together.
Membership in Congregation Beth El is not like belonging to any other organization. Our synagogue family embraces all who join with us, sharing our backgrounds, experiences, and stories as we seek personal and collective meaning. Belonging to Congregation Beth El reminds us that by giving something of ourselves to others we discover how much more purpose and perspective we receive in return.
our shared commitment
At Congregation Beth El, we believe synagogue membership is about inclusion and participation. Our Shared Commitment allows each member to contribute a Membership Commitment that is a meaningful and appropriate donation for them.
honor roll
Our Honor Roll members play a critical role in helping Congregation Beth El be a spiritual home for all who desire to engage with us. Our Honor Roll members’ elevated giving enables Congregation Beth El to offer relevant and innovative programming as we work to ensure a strong Jewish future.
Honor Roll members choose to make additional Membership Commitment donations, including a Kol Nidre contribution if desired, in addition to the Sustaining Amount.
Honor Roll members receive preferred parking on campus during the High Holy Days as well as front section High Holy Day service seating in the Jacobs Family Community Hall. Each Honor Roll family is invited to attend a Shabbat Dinner or synagogue program as our guests. Honor Roll members are invited to exclusive gatherings with notable guests who visit our community and other special events. Most of all, our Honor Roll members’ tzedakah generosity enables Congregation Beth El to continue to be a spiritual and personal resource for all our members.
We appreciate and value all donations to Congregation Beth El and hope that our members will explore the varied ways to give to, thereby deepening their connection to our synagogue community. All donations, whether a general donation or to a specified purpose, are credited towards Honor Roll recognition at the end of the fiscal year.
thank you!
We are grateful for all of our members whose meaningful donations each year ensure Congregation Beth El remains a home for every soul by offering a variety of Jewish experiences to nourish the mind, heart, and spirit, while being a caring Jewish community.
Our members’ voluntary and generous Membership Commitments and contributions affirm the spirit and character of our Beth El synagogue family. Together, our members demonstrate the vital role of our synagogue community in the world today. At Congregation Beth El, membership is a shared commitment.

Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience, and Spirit Dr. Sandra Block Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89235306991 Meeting ID: 892 3530 6991 How can aging be a good thing? Aging all too often feels like drifting downhill to a place we don’t want to go. But each year new doors open with opportunities, even while others close with loss. We have the power to prepare, to become stronger, more resilient, and navigate these challenges. Will we turn toward the opportunities, and find new joy and meaning in life. How can we make the most of this time, and develop into deeper, wiser people? No registration required. For more information, please contact Sandra at sandrablock1@gmail.com -
