Congregation Beth El has the privilege of welcoming a unit of IDF elite combat veterans hosted by the Lawrence Family JCC in a program called Peace of Mind. Join us for a very special Shabbat Dinner as we welcome these brave young veterans, hear their stories, and share in the warmth of Shabbat together.
Peace of Mind provides IDF veterans with the time, space, and support to process their combat experiences and make a healthier transition back to civilian life. Each unit takes part in nine months of counseling, with the most meaningful and transformative stage occurring during a week-long visit hosted by a Jewish community abroad. This fall, the San Diego Jewish community is honored to host one of these units.
