WOMEN'S CONNECTION FESTIVAL ART SERIES: FLOWERS FOR ISRAEL
Sunday, October 20, 2024 • 18 Tishrei 5785
10:00 AM - 2:00 PMJoin us for the first session of the new year's Festival Art Series when we gather to create meaningful art projects with experienced artists, sponsored by Women's Connection.
On Oct. 20, Varda Lev-Ram will lead us in creating anemones, representing the red flowers of remembrance. We will learn the craft of making these meaningful flowers and place them on canvas squares for a special floral wall-hanging or frame for a photo, blessing, or other remembrance. We will also create additional flowers to be available as pins to raise donations for three charities in Israel:
-Rebuilding the landscape of Kibbutz Nahal Oz
-Our Children, Our War-- Psychological support to orphans of Oct. 7.
-Bring Them Home
Sessions include orientation to the materials and techniques plus all the things you’ll need to make your unique and creative memorable piece/s.
Come celebrate and learn with us—even if all you want to do is to watch and schmooze!
$38* includes all art materials; $20 to nosh and watch ($42*/$22 at the door).
Wine and light food included.
Sign up online at www.cbe.org OR set up a “guest account” by contacting joy@cbe.org.
Future sessions will include creating art for Pesah Mar. 16 and for Shavuot May 18, 2026.

Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience, and Spirit Dr. Sandra Block Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89235306991 Meeting ID: 892 3530 6991 How can aging be a good thing? Aging all too often feels like drifting downhill to a place we don’t want to go. But each year new doors open with opportunities, even while others close with loss. We have the power to prepare, to become stronger, more resilient, and navigate these challenges. Will we turn toward the opportunities, and find new joy and meaning in life. How can we make the most of this time, and develop into deeper, wiser people? No registration required. For more information, please contact Sandra at sandrablock1@gmail.com -

The sun sets, ushering in the holiest day of the year. On Kol Nidre eve, we enter into God's presence, to be honest, modest, and contrite. The themes and melodies of our prayer seek to touch our souls and inspire our growth. -
