Torah Scroll Dedication
Thursday, January 22
5:00 PM

Join us in a profound and exciting moment for our synagogue community when we dedicate a new Torah Scroll, donated to Congregation Beth El by Hannah and Ran Anbar.

Throughout the afternoon of January 22nd, selected synagogue members who often read Torah for us on Shabbat, will have the rare opportunity to participate directly in the writing of this new Torah.

At 5:00 PM everyone is invited to witness the final letters of the scroll being written by the Anbar family guided by our sofer, Torah scribe, Rabbi Moshe Druin.

When we write and witness the writing of a Torah, we sense God’s presence flowing through our hands and hearts. We connect to those who wrote and read Torah before us. We connect to those who gave Torah to us. We connect to those whom we will pass the Torah to next.

The Torah Scroll Dedication is the first part of our February “Big BEIT” event. At 5:45 PM stay for dinner at our BEIT Café and our featured program, “Jews in the Media.” Our program includes discussion of how Jews are portrayed in television and culture. Our guest speaker is David Sacks, Emmy and Golden Globe Award–winning writer and producer of TV’s The Simpsons.

See here for more info and to register for "Big BEIT."
